Rebranding to ‘Scaled Access’

Our platform has developed into something we’re actually proud of – and people tell us we should be – whereas our previous brand name was starting to bother us more and more.

For those of you who do not know it, that name was ‘miaa Guard’ and people didn’t quite get it, let alone identify with it.

The ‘Guard’ part is still reminiscent of the days of security saying no. And ‘miaa’ actually stands for ‘Managing Identity, Access, and Authorisation’, which is a bit of a mouthful.

A new name that fits what we do

So we started the search for a new name that fits what we do.
Enter the ‘Scaled Access’-brand name.

Scaling access is essentially what we provide. Our platform enables users to get and share access all by themselves.

It now looks like rebranding is simple and the result is, but the process was not (we have a stuffed Slack channel to prove it).

We did it by the book, with the whole mission, vision, audience, market behind it and threw most of it away.

Our new brand, voice, and identity is what you are now experiencing – if you’re reading this on our new website at least – and we hope you can relate.

As far as our brand values go, the best way to experience them first-hand, is to stop reading and to get in touch. Because we didn’t need to make those up. We just described in the best possible way how we make decisions every day:

  • Self-govern
  • Re-think
  • Technology is a human activity

Ultimately it all boils down to everybody who works here, making sure our brand does what it says it’s going to do and really does deliver authentically.
